EFT Purchases – Default Payment Method in Univeris

October 17, 2024

Category: Top news

With the introduction of the new Electronic Funds Transfer (“EFT”) purchase option in Univeris (for nominee accounts only), please note that the default payment method in the system has changed from “Client Cheque Deposit” to “Client EFT Deposit”.

As a result, many Representatives are mistakenly choosing “Client EFT Deposit” from the drop-down menu, thinking they have selected “Client Cheque Deposit”. This error causes funds to be withdrawn from the client’s bank account and a cheque to be deposited, leading to duplicate debits and several returns due to insufficient funds.

We therefore ask that you pay special attention to the payment method you select from this drop-down menu to avoid any inconvenience.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Client Services Department, by email at investia@investia.ca, by phone at 1-888-684-5548, or by using the chatbot feature on the Advisor Centre.
