Continuing Education (CE) Credits – Have You Logged Into the CIRO CERTS Portal?

As a follow-up to our last communication, we have received feedback from CIRO that some CERTS users (Representatives, Associate Advisors, Junior Advisors, Licensed Assistants, Branch Managers) are having difficulty either registering on the portal or completing their 2024 and 2025 mandatory MFD compliance credit(s).

Here are some important tips to keep in mind when you register on the CE Reporting and Tracking System (“CERTS”) portal and complete the mandatory CIRO course(s):

• Do not share your CERTS link with others, or use the link of others, as it will prevent you or others from obtaining the credit(s).
  

  o   CIRO will not make any accommodations for cases where you used a shared link. If a shared link has been used, you must log into CERTS and use your unique link to reregister for the training using a different email address and then retake the entire training again, including the quiz. o    We have found cases where Branch Managers and other staff have been sharing the training link with their teams. Please remind all staff, with special focus on such supervisory or management staff, not to provide these links, even their own team.

• Please refrain from using plugins or browser extensions to speed up the webcasts, as this will result in your credit not being earned.
  
  
• Similarly, do not use the browser to translate the CERTS Mandatory Compliance Credits page as this may cause issues with how the links are displayed.
  
  
• As indicated on the certificate, this credit may take up to 2 (two) weeks to be reported on CERTS. Please do not inquire regarding the status of your training activities before the two-week period has passed.
