Action Required | Mass Email Delivery – New Authentication Requirements

We have been advised that 3 major email providers, i.e., Google, Yahoo and Apple, will imminently be implementing new email authentication requirements for all email senders. These new requirements will provide their users with a spam-free inbox significantly reducing the risks of direct domain spoofing and email phishing attacks. 

As such, if you send out mass emails using services such as JangoMail, Constant Contact, etc. from your @iAInvestia.ca email domain, or a custom email address domain, your emails will no longer be delivered to recipients if the email security is not updated by your email provider. 

To help you proactively manage this change, we are outlining the different scenarios that could apply to you and the next steps that you should initiate. As we are unsure of the exact cut-off date for each of the providers, we advise you to proactively handle this as quickly as possible to ensure successful email delivery. 

NOTE: If you do not send out mass emails using a third-party tool, no action is required. Also, mail merge through Outlook is not affected by this change.

Representatives using @iAInvestia.ca email domain for mass emailing
If you are using the @iAInvestia.ca email address domain for mass emailing, we advise you to initiate the following steps:

1.   Please connect with your mass emailing provider and gather the following information:

  1. SPF Record
  2. DKIM Record

2.   Notify Investia’s Client Services team by email at investia@investia.ca with the following information:

  1. Provide the name of the mass emailing service that you are using;
  2. Provide the Record information (above) that you collected from your mass emailer.

We will take this information and update our email security to ensure email services remain operational. 

 

Representatives using a custom email domain for mass emailing
If you are using a custom email address domain (i.e., @MutualFundsXYZ.com) for mass emailing, we advise you to initiate the following steps:

1.   Please connect with your mass emailing provider and gather the following information:

  1. SPF Record
  2. DKIM Record

2.   Notify your custom domain provider with the following information:

  1. Provide the name of the mass emailing service that you are using;
  2. Provide the Record information (above) that you collected from your mass emailer.

Your custom email address domain provider will take this information and update their email security to ensure email services remain operational.
